Excellent Trimmer....High Quality
Tanaka is one of the biggest names up there in commercial and residential string trimmers. Their 2 stroke engine are next to none. I did a lot of research into the right string trimmer and decided to take the plunge and spend quite a bit more and avoid brands like homelite, toro, hitachi, ryboi, stihl, and others due to their lower quality and mixed reviews. The reviewer below me obviously had no idea what was wrong with the engine. Its people like those that give good products bad names. I plan to change that.
Not being at all familiar with a string trimmer, assembly was pretty interesting. The manual is good, not excellent, but not awful either. You really just need to pay attention to the words, and not he diagrams as much or you may misinstall something. I got it up and running within an hour and half. Put in some 50:1 mix and followed the start up instructions to the letter. Started up on the first try!!! No need to constantly pull the cord 5 times! Just set the choke...

Disappointed
Engine would not run properly. I had to call an X-Tanaka shop and he suggested taking the filter from the tank and cleaning. Could not return because I had added fuel to the engine. It's working now but very disappointing.
