Appears to be good head, manual lacking
I really like my Tanaka trimmer. I have been using it with an aluminum head that takes short lengths of string. It works great, but reloading the string is kind of a pain. I bought the Brain so I wouldn't have to reload the string so often. I installed the Brain on the trimmer and it worked okay, but it didn't appear to be feeding line when it should, and the string got too short. I couldn't figure out what was wrong. I finally noticed that the head was patented and I looked up the patent. The patent shows that the feed mechanism is dependent on the RPM of the head. In order for it to feed string, it has to be going a certain RPM. I probably wasn't revving up the trimmer fast enough. I tried revving up the trimmer a little more, and it appears to be working fine.
I noticed the instructions for the original Brain mention that it is sensitive to RPM. But they don't tell you that in the new Brain instructions. They should update the instructions. Otherwise, it...
