I have a corner lot and have used a straight shaft string trimmer as an edger for years but trying to cut a good edge while supporting the head of the trimmer became harder and harder on my back. I looked at lawn edgers and they are expensive and add another machine to the shed. The professional landscapers at the building where I work all use a disk like this one to do the edging and it looked easy and fast to get a good result. Had to do some looking, though, to find this. No one carried it and it took some digging to find it even on Amazon. Now that I have it I could not be more pleased. It bolted right on to my Echo trimmer with no hassle in 10 minutes and the first time I used it I got the best edging job I've ever had with half the effort and no strain on my back. And while $60 seems a bit steep for a disk, it is well made and it sure beats $200-$400 for an edger. Give it a try.

This thing works great!
I bought this after shopping for an edger for my new Echo string trimmer with blower attachment. I wanted to buy the edger attachment from Echo but I liked the idea of not having to edge then string trim. After researching on the internet and hoping for the best I ordered it. I have been using it for 3 weeks now and I can say I am glad I bought it. Week one wasn't so sure. Had to get used to it. So after three uses. I love it. Not only does it let you know exactly where your string is it saves string by not hitting concrete all the time. Don't get me wrong it is nice to have an edger if the grass has not been maintained for long periods of time, but if it has only been a couple of weeks or more this thing powers away fast leaving super straight edges. Just leave enough string to extend just past rim if doing cracks on flat surfaces and enjoy. The disc actualy rotates when it contacts a surface like a house or tree and even when edgeing. great product, a little expensive
this is exactly what i'm looking for. i never liked edgers with blade. it takes a little of getting used to but once you know how to use it, it's great. now i have perfectly edged lawn everytime :)i wish they could drop the price down a bit because it's just plastic with 4 screws.
